2011 PIAA Boys and Girls Track and Field Day One Update

For WPIAL athletes, there were no golden moments on the first day of the state track and field championships Friday at Shippensburg University.
There were a handful of "almosts."
No WPIAL athletes won gold medals today, as half of the field events were held and all preliminary heats in running events. The rest of the field events will be contested tomorrow along with all running event finals.
Five athletes from the WPIAL finished in second place in field events today, and three of them couldnt get much closer to a championship.
