Pine-Richland’s 2018 football season has been over for a handful of weeks, but that hasn’t stopped the accolades from rolling in for the Rams.

Two of those players — seniors Tyler King and Andrew Kristofic — have been honored for their commitment to the game and performances by being selected to participate in different prestigious postseason all-star bowl games.

King and Kristofic will head to Texas in January to play among the best high school football players in the country. They will, however, be playing in different contests.

King, a linebacker/fullback and Navy football pledge, will play in the 10th annual International Bowl on Jan. 18 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The International Bowl is an annual competition that spans four age divisions and features teams from the U.S., Canada, Japan, Mexico and Panama.

To make the experience even more memorable, King will play for the Team USA Under-19 team at the International Bowl, which will be coached by Pine-Richland head football coach Eric Kasperowicz.

“When I found out that I was selected, I was honored. Just to be able to represent not only my school, but my community, and to be able to go out and play in another game like this one, it’s awesome,” King said.

“Especially with coach Kasperowicz being the coach of the team, it’s special. I wouldn’t want anyone else out there to be my coach.”

Meanwhile, Kristofic will head to San Antonio, Texas on Jan. 5 to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl game that will kickoff at 1 p.m., and will be broadcast by NBC.

In what is billed as the most watched high school sporting event of every year, the Rams’ offensive tackle/defensive tackle and Notre Dame commit will compete against 100 of the most talented and heavily recruited high school players in the country.
