Herald spotlight athlete: Fox Chapel’s Zoe Skirboll

Zoe Skirboll, a freshman on the Fox Chapel swim team, didn’t take long to make her mark. In the Foxes’ first meet against Shady Side Academy, she won the 100-yard butterfly and was part of the winning 200 freestyle relay team. Against Hampton, she took first in the 100 free and 100 breaststroke and was also on the first-place 200 free and 200 medley relay teams. Here’s a closer look at Skirobll, this week’s Herald spotlight athlete:
How many days out of the year do you swim?
Probably around 340.
If you could go somewhere you’ve never been, where would you go?
Australia.
What movie could you watch over and over?
“The Hate You Give.”
Who is your favorite Pittsburgh athlete?
JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Do you have any rituals or superstitions before a meet?
I get my nails done.
What’s your favorite part of the holiday season?
Just getting together with family and friends.
What is your favorite class at school?
English.
Who would you like to see disappear from public view?
Criminals.
What would make up your favorite all-time meal?
A big steak with mashed potatoes.
Is there a food you refuse to eat?
Olives
What is your favorite TV show?
“The 100.”
What junk food do you have a weakness for?
Ice cream.
Who makes the best pizza in Pittsburgh?
Mineo’s.
