Mars’ Carmody commits to Polynesian Bowl

Mars junior offensive tackle Michael Carmody has committed to play in Hawaii’s Polynesian Bowl high school all-star game.

The January 2020 contest will be at Honolulu’s Aloha Stadium, the former site of the NFL Pro Bowl.

The 6-foot-6, 295-pound Carmody is listed as a four-star recruit by 247Sports.com.

Carmody, who has yet to make a college verbal commitment, has received more than 20 Division I offers, including those from Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State and Virginia Tech.

He helped the Planets compile a 9-2 overall record in 2018 and finish second in the WPIAL Class 5A Northern Conference at 6-1.

Mars fell to Woodland Hills in the first round of the playoffs.

A top Class of 2020 OT makes a commitment.
