High School Football America released its rankings for the top 10 states for high school football Wednesday, and Pennsylvania came in at No. 7.
This list will create some debate. We used our algorithm to breakdown the Top 10 states in the nation, coming into the 2019 season. The list is based on our algorithm, not fan support. Let the debate begin by going to this link to see who is No. 1. https://t.co/mx9M9nyCZm pic.twitter.com/ELGJZLEJyy

The rankings are based on HS Football America’s algorithim that pulls together statistics based off of their regional and national team rankings in order to determine which state is the best. In June, High School Football America released the top 125 teams in the country, along with 100 honorable mentions.
Penn Hills and Pine-Richland were two WPIAL teams included on the honorable mention list last month. Other Pennsylvania teams that earned honorable mentions were Cathedral Prep, Manheim Central and Southern Columbia.
Three Pennsylvania teams also were included on the Top 125 list. St. Joseph’s Prep was fourth overall, Coatesville came in at No. 83 and Harrisburg was No. 96. All of the teams listed helped Pennsylvania climb the rankings and crack the top 10.
With 13 teams in High School Football America’s Preseason Top 100, Florida came in as the No. 1 state, followed by California, Georgia and Texas.
