Trib HSSN preseason boys soccer rankings

WPIAL soccer season opens Friday. Here are the Tribune-Review boys preseason rankings.
Class AAAA
1. Canon-McMillan (16-3) — The Big Macs reached the WPIAL semifinals last year and return several key players, including junior Joe Fonaghy and senior Tommy Samosky.
2. Seneca Valley (19-3-1)
3. North Allegheny (10-6-1)
4. Norwin (17-4-1)
5. Connellsville (14-5)
Class AAA
1. Franklin Regional (20-1-1) — The defending WPIAL champions and PIAA semifinalists allowed seven goals all season. Sophomore Anthony DiFalco and senior Connor Hudson will lead the attack.
2. West Allegheny (23-2)
3. Moon (13-4-1)
4. South Fayette (12-6-1)
5. Thomas Jefferson (16-6-1)
Class AA
1. Quaker Valley (19-5) — The Quakers made it to the WPIAL title game but fell to Shady Side Academy. Players like senior Dom Reiter and Franky Fernandez give the team reason for more optimism.
2. Shady Side Academy (14-7-1)
3. Deer Lakes (21-2-1)
4. Charleroi (18-2)
5. North Catholic (12-4)
Class A
1. Greensburg Central Catholic (19-3) — Senior Nate Ward return to lead the Centurions, who finished runner-up to Avonworth in the WPIAL before reaching the PIAA semifinals.
2. Avonworth (23-1-1)
3. Springdale (15-4-1)
4. Winchester Thurston (11-6)
5. Seton LaSalle (19-5)
