Westmoreland County football players to watch in Week 1

Anthony Giansante
Norwin, jr., T
The junior tackle is part of an offensive line that has been tasked to protect prize quarterback Jack Salopek. Giansante’s cousin, Jimmy Giansante, was a star wide receiver at Thomas Jefferson, and his uncle, Jim, was a star running back for the Jaguars. Norwin will head to North Allegheny on Friday.
Zac Gordon
Franklin Regional, sr., RB
The senior led the Panthers in rushing with 545 yards and scored six touchdowns in 2018. Franklin Regional did not play in Week Zero, opting to scrimmage Bethel Park. He will lead the Panthers against Plum this Friday.
Jake Johnson
Mt. Pleasant, sr., RB/ WR/DB
The senior moved from wide receiver to running back this season. In the season opener against Southmoreland, he rushed for 39 yards, scored on a 13-yard run and caught a 56-yard touchdown pass in a 27-14 loss. The Vikings head to Hopewell this Friday.
Caleb Lisbon
Penn-Trafford, sr. RB/LB
The senior opened the season with a three-touchdown performance in a 42-7 victory against Norwin. He rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns and caught a 38-yard touchdown pass. He had two other touchdown nullified by penalties. The Warriors host Gateway on Friday.
