WPIAL Class A roundup: Jackson scores 5 times in West Greene’s blowout win

Ben Jackson ran for 150 yards and scored five times as West Greene scored an 82-14 win over Bentworth (0-2, 0-1) in a Class A Tri-County South game Friday night.
Jackson has 11 touchdowns this season through two games for the Pioneers (2-0, 1-0).
Cornell 32, Union 6 — Zaire Harrison threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns to lead Cornell (1-0, 1-0) to the Big 7 win against Union (0-2, 0-1). Isaiah Langston caught three passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns for the Raiders.
Chartiers-Houston 40, Jefferson-Morgan 0 — Anthony Lento and Nate Cavallo ran for two touchdowns each as Chartiers-Houston (2-0, 1-0) blanked Jefferson-Morgan (0-2, 0-1) in Tri-County South play. Sam DeWalt led the Buccaneers with 102 rushing yards.
Avella 12, Bishop Canevin 0 — Justin Dryer ran for 90 yards and a touchdown as Avella (1-1) scored all of its points in the fourth quarter in its nonconference win against Bishop Canevin (0-2). Anthony Georgetti scored Avella’s other touchdown while teammate Derek Tarolli threw for 121 yards.
Serra Catholic 33, Ellwood City 14 — Terrell Booth scored on a 20-yard interception return as Serra Catholic’s defense recorded six sacks in its nonconference win against Ellwood City (0-2). Javon Holt ran for 105 yards and a touchdown for Serra Catholic (2-0) while teammate Max Rocco threw for 118 yards. Tyler Powell rushed for 126 yards and both Ellwood City touchdowns.
Trinity Christian, W.Va. 38, Mapletown 34 — Drew Boczek threw for 184 yards and three touchdowns as Trinity Christian, W.Va. won a back-and-forth contest against Mapletown (1-1). Landan Stevenson ran for 208 yards and two touchdowns and caught a 64-yard pass from Max Vanata for another score to pace Mapletown.
