Player of the Week

Devin Beattie

Burrell, Sr., RB/LB

Devin Beattie was questionable to play Friday against Valley after suffering an injury two weeks ago in the loss at Deer Lakes. But the bruising runner wasn’t going to stand on the sidelines and not play against the rival Vikings. Beattie again was a workhorse with 135 yards and a touchdown as the Bucs won for the first time this season and for the 300th time in the history of the program. He kicked off the scoring with a 6-yard run and added the 2-point conversion. Beattie has 328 yards and three touchdowns.

Players to watch

Carson Heinle

Kiski Area, Jr., QB/DB

The Cavaliers rallied to defeat Laurel Highlands for their first win of the season. Heinle was a big part of the victory as he tossed three touchdown passes, one each to Isaiah Gonzalez and Bart Martin in the first half and the winner to Connor Jordan late in the fourth quarter. Heinle finished 12 of 20 for 185 yards.

Kaden Spencer

Knoch, Jr., WR/DB

Knoch passed a challenging road test with a close win at Beaver Falls, 28-24, and Spencer had another big evening catching the ball against the Tigers. He hauled in seven grabs for 140 yards and three touchdown catches from quarterback Codi Mullen. Including his massive eight-catch, 234-yard, two-TD game against Hampton in Week Zero, Spencer owns 19 catches for 418 yards and five TDs in three games.

Chase Weihrauch

Springdale, Sr., QB/LB

The Dynamos snapped a 13-game losing streak last Saturday with a 35-21 win at Summit Academy. In that game, Weihrauch completed 5 of 11 passes for 50 yards, but he did the most damage with his feet. He got the call 22 times and ran for 155 yards and two touchdowns. It was part of a big rushing effort from all of the Springdale backs who combined for 270 yards on 43 attempts and four for of the five touchdowns. Defensively, Weihrauch led the way with 10 tackles.
