High school sports roundup for Dec. 3, 2023: Lincoln Park tops Moon in battle of No. 1 teams

Four players scored in double figures as Lincoln Park beat Moon, 63-53, in a battle of No. 1 teams Sunday night at the Midland Classic.
Pitt recruit Brandin Cummings and Meleek Thomas each had 19 points, and Mikey Crawford and Dontay Green each added 11 for Class 4A No. 1 Lincoln Park (2-0).
Elijah Guillory had 25 points and Aiden Reesman scored 10 for Class 5A No. 1 Moon (0-1).
Lincoln Park led 28-25 at halftime and maintained a three-point lead after three quarters. The Leopards closed the game on an 18-11 run.
Blackhawk 71, Rochester 66 — Justin Shanor scored 27 points and Tyler Heckathorn had 21 as Blackhawk (1-1) won at the Midland Classic.
Xavier Rigby poured in 34 points for Rochester (1-1).
North Catholic 79, St. Joseph’s (N.Y.) 48 — Max Hurray had 25 points and Nick Larson added 16 as North Catholic (1-1) won at its host tournament.
Girls basketball
Belle Vernon 47, Propel Montour 14 — Kenzi Seliga had 14 points as Belle Vernon (1-1) earned a victory at the Play 4 Mae tip-off tournament at Woodland Hills.
McKeesport 41, Shaler 34 — Addison’s Homer’s 19 points led McKeesport (2-0) to a victory at the Play 4 Mae tip-off tournament at Woodland Hills. Hilary Quinn had nine points for Shaler (0-2).
Oakland Catholic 64, Imhotep Charter 33 — Kaylee DeAngelo had 16 points as Oakland Catholic (2-0) rolled to victory at the Play 4 Mae tip-off tournament at Woodland Hills.
Penn-Trafford 47, Bethel Park 35 — Olivia Pepple had 19 points, and Lauren Marton had 13 points and 10 rebounds as Penn-Trafford won at the Play 4 Mae tip-off tournament at Woodland Hills.
The Warriors (1-0) led 19-5 after the first quarter and 23-17 at halftime.
Ella Harmon had 17 points, and Sadie Orie scored 14 for Bethel Park (1-1).
Trinity 87, Freedom 14 — Riley Corins had 15 points, Sutton Williamson added 13, Maddy Roberts had 11 and Sam Horne scored 10 as Trinity (1-0) rolled to a win at the Midland Classic.
