High school roundup for March 5, 2024: Defending champion Peters Township gets past Upper St. Clair in OT

Camden Martin’s second goal of the game was the overtime winner as two-time defending champion Peters Township defeated Upper St. Clair, 3-2, in the PIHL Class 3A Penguins Cup quarterfinals Tuesday night.
Martin’s winning goal came 4:57 into overtime. Cavan Fisher also scored for No. 4 Peters Township, which will meet No. 1 Pine-Richland in the semifinals Monday.
Dylan Yealy had a goal and an assist and Eli Rankin also scored for No. 5 Upper St. Clair.
Indiana 1, North Catholic 0 – Jackson Albert scored the game’s lone goal and Luke Rowe made 28 saves to earn the shutout as Indiana defeated North Catholic in the Class A quarterfinals. Indiana, which was outshot 28-14, will meet Chartiers Valley in the semifinals March 13.
Neshannock 5, Ringgold 2 – Giovanni Valentine scored twice, Brian McConahy and Sam Mezzanotte each had a goal and an assist, and Micah Dejulia added a goal as Neshannock knocked out the defending champs in the Varsity D2 quarterfinals. Phil Quattrone had a goal and an assist and Anthony Bonari also scored for Ringgold. Neshannock will meet Bishop Canevin in the semifinals March 14.
