Trib 10: Riverside, Seneca Valley top season’s 1st power rankings

The Riverside baseball program hasn’t lost a game since 2022 as the Panthers continue to sit atop the HSSN power rankings in 2024.

Riverside is No. 1 in baseball after ending 2023 as the top-ranked team in the weekly power rankings.

Hempfield finished on top of the softball power rankings at the end of last season, but the Spartans were knocked from No. 1 on Wednesday with a loss to the new top team, Seneca Valley.

All twenty teams ranked in the inaugural power rankings were very good a year ago, but they are also off to strong starts this spring.

If you are new to the power rankings, they are put together with no care toward classification.

Here are the first power rankings of the 2024 season. Teams are listed with overall record.
