With the change from April to May on the calendars, the changes keep coming in the latest edition of the Trib HSSN state baseball rankings.

A total of eight teams dropped out of the top five classifications with only Class A producing the same five teams as a week ago.

The exits, perhaps some only temporary, of Parkland, Neshaminy, Abington Heights, Thomas Jefferson, Salisbury Township, Martinsburg Central, Sharpsville and Halifax open the door for these teams to enter and enjoy the state limelight: Mt. Lebanon, Central Bucks East, Chichester, Archbishop Wood, Neumann-Goretti, Mohawk, Lakeview and Montgomery.

Maybe some of these eight teams will enjoy the penthouse view and keep stacking the victories, or perhaps they will be one and done and will exit stage left as early as next week.

Three teams lost their perch at the top of the class.

Plymouth-Whitemarsh replaced LaSalle College in 6A, Seton LaSalle flip-flopped with playoff rival Serra Catholic at one and two in 2A, and Clarion is now No. 1 in Class A as Southern Fulton drops to No. 5.
