Simone Sharpless scored a pair of goals to lead North Catholic to a 3-1 win over Burrell in Section 2-2A girls soccer Monday.

Lauren Mealie added a goal and Kathleen Virostek dished out two assists for North Catholic (7-0, 2-0). Maggie Nesko scored for Burrell (3-1-1, 1-1).

Allderdice 1, North Hills 0 – Avery Ruffus scored the decisive goal and Hallie Cohen recorded the shutout as Allderdice (2-3, 1-1) blanked North Hills (2-4, 0-2) in Section 3-4A.

Baldwin 1 , Mt. Lebanon 0 – Mary Vargo scored for Baldwin (4-3, 1-1) in a Section 2-4A win over Mt. Lebanon (4-1-1, 1-1).

Beaver 1, Avonworth 0 – Sydney Chontos scored the winning goal, assisted by Jocelyn Biela, and Cali Coups made four saves to record her fourth straight shutout as Beaver (4-0, 2-0) blanked Avonworth (3-3-1, 2-1) in Section 3-2A.

Chartiers-Houston 8, Brownsville 0 – Amelia Brose and Ava Capozzoli each had a hat trick and Natalie Metzer and Allie Winguard added a goal apiece for Chartiers-Houston (4-1, 2-0) in a Section 2-A win over Brownsville (0-4-1, 0-1-1).

Franklin Regional 4, Greensburg Salem 0 – Eden Williams had a hat trick, Abby Paterline also scored, and Addison Ayres and Alaina McGrath combined on the shutout to lead Franklin Regional (3-4, 3-1) past Greensburg Salem (2-3, 0-3) in Section 4-3A.

Freeport 11, Valley 0 – Camryn Woods, Elena Jenkins and Joey Spehar scored two goals apiece for Freeport (4-0, 2-0) in a Section 2-2A win over Valley (1-3, 0-2). Maggie Conger, Brinley Sullivan, CeCe Schlegel, Lizzi Parsi and Nia DiSanti also scored and Alyssa Alcorn and Macey Edwards combined on the shutout.

Greensburg Central Catholic 9, Ellis School 3 – Riley Kerr scored eight goals and Addie Vacanti added one to lead Greensburg Central Catholic (1-1, 1-1) past Ellis School (2-3, 1-3) in a Section 4-A win.

Hampton 4, Gateway 0 – Olivia Hoffman led Hampton (5-1, 2-1) with two goals and Gigi Rudy and Sara Kenst added a goal apiece in a Section 1-3A win over Gateway (1-3, 1-2).

Indiana 3, Elizabeth Forward 2 – Emily Betsinger, Sophia Scardina and Vaness Morrow scored a goal apiece to lead Indiana (2-4, 2-1) past Elizabeth Forward (1-2, 1-2) in a Section 4-3A win.

Kiski Area 1, West Mifflin 0 (OT) — Sophia Hranica scored the winning goal, assisted by Addison Bell, and Bria Bires recorded the shutout to lead Kiski Area (3-3, 3-1) past West Mifflin (1-4, 0-3) in Section 4-3A.

Latrobe 15, Woodland Hills 0 – Annalyse Bauer scored four goals, Maddy Petruzzi had a hat trick and Robin Reilly and Geli Dent added two goals apiece to lead Latrobe (1-2-1, 1-1) to a Section 1-4A win over Woodland Hills (0-4-1, 0-2). Mackenzie Kubistek, Bri Hoffer, Sophia Trunzo and Gabby Cunningham also scored and Gianna Trunzo and Allie Cole combined on the shutout.

Mohawk 2, Freedom 1 – Audrina Cox and Ellie Whippo scored a goal apiece to push Mohawk (3-1, 1-1) past Freedom (2-4, 1-2) in a Section 1-A win.

Montour 1, Bethel Park 1 – Grace Bannon scored to help Montour (4-1-1, 2-0-1) to a Section 2-3A draw with Bethel Park (2-2-2, 1-2-1).

Moon 1, West Allegheny 0 – Ally D’Alesio scored for Moon (4-1, 4-0) in a Section 2-3A win over West Allegheny (3-2-1, 2-1).

Mt. Pleasant 5, Deer Lakes 0 – Morgan Gesinski had a hat trick, Rylin Bugosh scored twice, and Laurel Rummel preserved the shutout to power Mt. Pleasant (5-0, 2-0) to a Section 4-2A win over Deer Lakes (2-2-2, 1-1).

Norwin 8, Armstrong 0 – Julia Bursick had a hat trick and Jackie Weber, Carmella Simco, Siena Ali, Nicole Brown and Tatum Casper added a goal apiece for Norwin (3-3, 2-0) in a Section 1-4A win over Armstrong (1-4, 1-1).

Penn-Trafford 7, Hempfield 0 – Alexis Brown scored a hat trick and Lauryn Francis had a goal and two assists to lead Penn-Trafford (4-2, 2-0) past Hempfield (1-4, 0-2) in Section 1-4A. Tori Yurt, Malia Graves and Isabella Rager also scored, Chloe Walton had two assists and Rease Solomon and Alannah Hall combined on the shutout.

Peters Township 6, Connellsville 0 – Julia Spergel had a hat trick, Taylor McCullough scored twice and Milena Gill added a goal for Peters Township (5-0, 2-0) in a Section 2-4A win over Connellsville (4-4, 0-2). Kaitlyn Strine, Kaylin Hoffman and Sarah Schweiger combined on the shutout.

Pine-Richland 1, North Allegheny 0 – Charlie Ozelski scored a second-half goal and Shea Best had made eight saves as Pine-Richland (4-1, 2-0) blanked North Allegheny (3-2, 1-1) in Section 1-4A.

Riverview 1, Winchester Thurston 0 – Cailey Trosch had the lone goal as Riverview (4-0, 4-0) edged Winchester Thurston (2-3, 1-2) in Section 4-A. Isabel Chaparro assisted on the goal and Chiara Brun had a shutout in net.

Seton LaSalle 2, Sewickley Academy 2 – Sydney Morgan and Kennedy Bakota scored to help Seton LaSalle (3-1-2, 3-0-1) to a Section 3-A draw with Sewickley Academy (2-0-1, 2-0-1).

Shady Side Academy 3, Knoch 0 – Sara Christner, Ella Van Norman and Cooper Danforth scored a goal apiece to lead Shady Side Academy (2-3, 1-1) to a Section 2-2A win over Knoch (0-5-1, 0-2).

Southmoreland 7, Ligonier Valley 1 – Megan Mehall had a hat trick and Aubrey Seder added two goals to lead Southmoreland (4-2, 2-0) to a Section 4-2A win. Phoebe Kelly scored for Ligonier Valley (1-3, 0-2).

Springdale 4, Eden Christian 1 – Bri Ross scored all four goals, including the 100th of her career, to lift Springdale (4-0) to a nonsection win over Eden Christian (2-3-1). Hailey Marchlewski and Tessa Derringer recorded assists for the Dynamos.

Thomas Jefferson 4, Oakland Catholic 1 – Denika Bergman, Ashlynn Fry, Olivia Della Lucia and Sami Maglicco scored to lead Thomas Jefferson (3-1, 2-0) past Oakland Catholic (1-4, 0-2) in Section 3-3A.

Upper St. Clair 1, Canon-McMillan 1 – Brooke Bodamer scored to help Upper St. Clair (4-0-1, 1-0-1) to a Section 2-4A draw with Canon-McMillan (2-1-1, 0-1-1).

Waynesburg 4, Beth-Center 0 – Kolbi Rastoka scored two goals and Emily Rafferty and Avery Davis added a goal apiece to lead Waynesburg (4-1, 1-1) to a Section 2-A win over Beth-Center (1-3, 0-2).

Yough 15, East Allegheny 1 – Erin Reisinger had a hat trick and Daisy Miller, Kate Slavick, Leah Slavick and Brooke Wieland added two goals apiece to lead Yough (4-2, 1-1) past East Allegheny (1-2, 0-2) in a Section 4-2A win.

Boys soccer

Carlynton 4, Aquinas Academy 0 – Hamza Alezzo had a hat trick, including a goal on a bicycle kick, to lead Carlynton (5-2, 2-0) past Aquinas Academy (3-1, 1-1) in Section 3-A. Connor Hart also scored and Mateo Carrasco and Austin Naman each had two assists for the Cougars.

Field hockey

Norwin 7, Hempfield 1 – Karlie Johnson scored four goals to lead Norwin to a Class 3a victory. Teagan Zola scored for Hempfield.

Girls tennis

Ellwood City 4, Riverside 1 – Kailyn Hamilton, Tessa Folino and Mia Meredith won singles matches in straight sets to lead Ellwood City to a Section 4-2A victory. The teams split the doubles matches with Ellwood City’s Sophia Agnew and Kiley LeViere and Riverside’s Olivia Parson and Hannah Cameron picking up wins.

Mt. Lebanon 3, Bethel Park 2 – Michelle Yang and Elena Tatel won singles matches and Maggie Meehan and Alejandra Garcia won at No. 2 doubles to lead Mt. Lebanon in a matchup of Section 4-3A powers. Cami Fisher won at No. 1 singles and Julia Gobbie and Cassie Sierka at No. 1 doubles for Bethel Park.

Penn-Trafford 3, Latrobe 2 – Annabelle Aquino won at No. 3 singles to lead Penn-Trafford to a Section 1-3A victory. Mia Williams and Elle LeJeune also won singles matches for the Warriors. The doubles teams of Maria Fetter/Julia Fetter and Jenny Galo/Bevan Stairs earned victories for Latrobe.

Quaker Valley 4, Aquinas Academy 1 – The doubles teams of Hannah Stein/Jane Lenhard and Mae Kruawangmon/Emaan Ashtag won in straight sets to lead Quaker Valley to a Section 5-2A win. Kirsten Close and Avery Allan won singles matches for the Quakers. Allie Swift won at No. 3 singles for Aquinas Academy.

Winchester Thurston 5, McGuffey 0 – Fiona Kamin and Marann Buckanovich didn’t drop a game and Anya Mahtani and the doubles teams of Elena Clarke/Hannah Alberts and Raghad Hassan/Lucy Bair won in straight sets to lead Winchester Thurston to a Section 2-2A win.

Girls volleyball

Canon-McMillan 3, Mt. Lebanon 0 – Natalie Carr had 17 kills and Abby Tucker added five kills and three blocks to lead Canon McMillan (25-16, 25-18, 25-18) to a Section 1-4A win over Mt. Lebanon.

Frazier 3, Southmoreland 1 – Grace Vaughn had 15 kills, 15 digs and 17 service points to lead Frazier to a nonsection win. Gracen Hartman had 32 assists, Allie Monack recorded 13 kills and Mia West and Addison Schultz each added four blocks for the Commodores.

Serra Catholic 3, Seton LaSalle 1 – Cassidy Trahan had 27 kills and 26 digs to lead Serra Catholic to a Section nonsection win. Beth Pasternak had 16 assists and nine digs, Nikki Sfanos added six kills and six digs and Kiley Fettis served three aces for the Eagles.
