North Allegheny Sweeps Boys and Girls Swimming Titles in Class AAA

The North Allegheny Tigers dominated the AAA WPIAL boys and girls swimming championships on day two held at Trees Pool at the University of Pittsburgh Friday afternoon..
The girls won their fourth straight WPIAL title and scored a whopping 152 point victory over second place Oakland Catholic. Upper St Clair finished 4.5 points back to finish 3rd. NA won 5 total girls medals, USC 3.
On the boys side it was a lot closer as NA beat 2nd place USC by 47.5 points. NA led heading into day two, however USC took the lead early on on day two. NA took over mid morning snd never trailed again. Peters Twp finished third .5 ahead of 4th place Bethel Park. The Tigers have now won 6 of the last 7 WPIAL boys titles. NA, USC, and Bethel Park all won three medals each on day two. Three WPIAL records were set as right from the start Alyssa Ruffing a Sophomre from Franklin Regional won the 100 yard freestyle with a score of 51.08. Kristen Murslack a Junior from Pine Richland set a new WPIAL mark in the 100 yard breaststroke, scoring 1:02.68. The final record set was by the NA girls 400 yard freestyle relay team. They bested their own record set last year by less than a second scoring, 3:28.83 to cap off their WPIAL team win.
