Quaker Valley’s Ricky Guss named Pennsylvania’s Class 3A player of the year

Quaker Valley coach Jerry Veshio and quarterback Ricky Guss, who led the Quakers to a PIAA football championship this month, were named Tuesday as the state's Class 3A Coach and Player of the Year.
Two of Guss' teammates, Isaiah McNair and Andrew Seymour, also earned all-state honors in a vote of Pennsylvania sports writers. In all, 10 WPIAL players earned all-state honors, including three from Aliquippa: Tariq Jones, Kwantel Raines and Solvauhn Moreland. The others from the WPIAL are Bryce Ramer and Will Connelly of Beaver, Lionel Deanes of Seton LaSalle and Dustin Shoaf of Yough.
