The Herald Spotlight Athlete: Fox Chapel’s Jessie Michel

Jessie Michel, a senior on the Fox Chapel volleyball team, plays outside hitter. She is also a hurdler on the track team. Mitchell is undecided where she will attend college but wants to major in something science-related and continue playing volleyball.

Here’s a closer look at Mitchell:

What got you interested in volleyball?

Since I was little, I looked up to my sister, who played volleyball, so I began playing.

If you could go somewhere you’ve never been before, where would you go?

I’d like to visit Ireland and Australia.

What was your favorite candy treat in your Trick or Treat days?

I loved to get Smarties and Kit Kat bars.

What movie could you watch over and over?

“Harry Potter.”

What was your costume the last time you went Trick-or-Treating?

I was a Pirate.

What is your favorite ride at Kennywood?

Definitely the Thunderbolt.

Who would be your dream date?

Liam Hemsworth.

What is your favorite class at school?

English.

Who would you like to see disappear from public view?

The Kardashians.

What would make up your favorite all-time meal?

Clam chowder, broccoli, steak and a Baskin-Robbins sundae.

Is there a food you refuse to eat?

I’m not a picky eater, so I really can’t think of one.

What is your favorite TV show?

“Criminal Minds.”

What junk food do you have a weakness for?

Sour cream and onion potato chips.
