Lorenzo Jenkins
Fox Chapel, so., WR/DB
At 6-foot-2, Jenkins is a sizable target in the Foxes passing game. He caught four passes for 90 yards and an 8-yard score last Friday against North Hills. On the other side of the ball, he continues to emerge as a playmaker. Last week, he recorded seven tackles, six of them solo, with two of the stops for a loss.
Garrett King
Freeport, so., QB/DB
King was king on defense for Freeport last Friday against Derry. He made a team-best 10 tackles and caused a fumble to snuff out a Trojans scoring drive. He also entered the game at quarterback on a couple of occasions to spell Garret Schaffhauser. King hopes to make his mark again Friday as the Yellowjackets host Class 3A No. 2 North Catholic.
Luke Lander
Kiski Area, sr., RB/LB
The Cavaliers running back and linebacker continued to raise his profile last week against Shaler. In the setback, the senior carried the ball 15 times for 98 yards. He capped the performance with his first touchdown of the season, a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter that prevented a shutout by the Titans.
Jared Schrecengost
Knoch, sr., WR/CB
Whether on offense or defense, the Knights veteran is a difference-maker. In last week’s win over Blackhawk, Schrecengost led the team with 11 tackles. Knoch hasn’t thrown the ball much over the first two weeks, but he’s there when needed in the passing game. He caught one pass against Blackhawk, but it was a key 53-yard reception for a touchdown.
