C-M’s Lauren Waller & GCC’s Olivia Zambruno Win WPIAL Girls Golf Gold

On a gorgeous day in Western PA their were two lady golfers crowned champions. In AAA Lauren Waller of Canon-McMillan repeated as champion shooting a 4 under 68. In AA Olivia Zambruno of Greensburg Central Catholic shot 81 to claim the championship.

In AAA Lauren Waller was the only golfer to score under par. She defeated her opponents by 8 strokes. She was able to score five birdies on the day with only one bogey. There was a three way tie for second place shooting a 4 over par 76. Amanda Conner of Penn Trafford, Amanda Scala of Central Valley and Johnna Bechner of Gateway. Of the 30 golfers who participated 7 golfers qualified for the Western Regionals. Marissa Balish won a playoff to take the last spot. In AA there were 10 participants with 8 qualifying for Regionals next week. The following are the scores from the championships. Both Laruen Waller and Olivia Zambruno will be featured in our MSA Sports Center Stage very soon.
