Last season, the Central Valley football team lost its first four games before rallying to win four of its last five to make the playoffs. The late-season run included a stunning 14-8 upset of previously undefeated and top-ranked Aliquippa in Week 9.

Sto-Rox 43, Union 8 — Eric Wilson threw for 298 yards as No. 4 Sto-Rox (3-0, 2-0) downed Union (0-3, 0-2) in Big 7 play. Jaidon Berry caught 12 passes for 147 yards while teammate Dylan Greer ran for two touchdowns.

WPIAL Class 4A roundup: Matt Goodlin powers Knoch to milestone win
Knoch 42, Beaver 7 — In the Northwest 8 Conference, Matt Goodlin rushed for 296 yards and five touchdowns to lead Knoch (3-0, 2-0) to victory over Beaver (1-2, 0-2). Knoch outgained Beaver, 376 yards — all rushing — to 175. It was the 300th win in program history for Knoch, which is off to a 3-0 start for the first time since 2013.
