The MSA Sports Stretch Run in underway with two weeks remaining before we take the orange barrels away and open up the 2011 ramp to the Highway to Heinz. The 2011 Stretch Run of the WPIAL football season got a taste of Saturday football with three Class AA and a pair of Class A conference games. While unlike Friday night, it was a dry afternoon and evening on the high school gridiron, high winds were a factor at all five venues. Fresh into the second half of the regular season, new life seemed to be breathed into several players as their performances rose just as the mercury outside was on the rise from the last two weeks. The first Friday in October had more of a first Friday in September feel to it as the gaudy number put up seemed to indicate.
