We hit the midway point of the high school football regular season as we say so long to September and hello to October this week on the MSA Sports Network. The final Saturday of September in the 2011 high school football season saw two Class AA and three Class A conference tilts. If you do the math, the light schedule gives us a perfect five games to select five top performances. Every Friday night that is filled with high school football action is special…but this Friday night seemed to stand out for several reasons. Each classification was lined up with big showdown games that had folks calling it Separation Friday in the WPIAL. Not all of the big games from Week Four were played on Friday night. Saturday was one of the lightest days at the district high school football restaurant with only four WPIAL main courses to choose from with a pair of Pittsburgh City League non-conference sides. One of my favorite weeks of the regular season…Week Three. Now this week is business as usual for those in the AA Midwestern, AA Interstate, A Eastern and A Tri-County South Conferences.
