FINAL WPIAL Boys Basketball Playoff Picture

The MSA Sports Stretch Run has come to an end as section play for all but a couple of WPIAL boys basketball teams is in the books. Here is a final rundown of the WPIAL boy's roundball playoff picture through Friday, February 11th.
The top FOUR teams in each section qualify for the WPIAL playoffs. If there is a tie for the final playoff spots and head-to-head does not break the tie, then all of the tied teams make it to the postseason.
WPIAL CLASS AAAA – 17 TEAMS:
SECTION 1:
* Connellsville (12-2) has clinched the section championship
* Norwin (10-4), Penn-Trafford (9-5) and Latrobe (8-6) have all clinched playoff spots
SECTION 2:
* Gateway (10-2) has clinched the section championship
* Franklin Regional (7-5) has clinched a playoff spot
* Woodland Hills (6-6), Penn Hills (6-6) and Plum (6-6) all finished tied for the final two playoff spots. The head-to-head tiebreaker goes to Woodland Hills so they finish 3rd since they were 3-1, Penn Hills 2-2 and Plum 1-3. You revert back to head-to-head and Penn Hills and Plum split so they are both in the playoffs
SECTION 3:
* Shaler (11-1) has clinched the section championship
* North Allegheny (10-2), Butler (6-6) and Pine-Richland (6-6) have all clinched playoff spots
SECTION 4:
* Mount Lebanon (13-1) has clinched the section championship
* Chartiers Valley (10-4), Upper St. Clair (10-4) and Moon (7-7) have all clinched playoff spots
WPIAL CLASS AAA – 20 TEAMS:
SECTION 1:
* Highlands (12-2) has clinched the section championship
* Mars (11-3), Hampton (10-4) and Valley (8-6) have all clinched playoff spots
SECTION 2:
* Blackhawk (10-2) and New Castle (10-2) have clinched a share of the section championship
* Central Valley (7-5) and West Allegheny (6-6) have clinched playoff spots
SECTION 3:
* Uniontown (11-1) and Greensburg-Salem (11-1) have clinched a share of the section championship
* Mount Pleasant (6-6) and Southmoreland (6-6) have clinched playoff spots
SECTION 4:
* West Mifflin (11-1) has clinched the section championship
* Thomas Jefferson (10-2), South Park (7-5) and Keystone Oaks (6-6) have all clinched playoff spots
SECTION 5:
* South Fayette (12-0) has clinched the section championship
* Montour (10-2), Ringgold (7-5) and Trinity (7-5) have all clinched playoff spots
WPIAL CLASS AA – 25 TEAMS:
SECTION 1:
* Shady Side Academy (11-1) has clinched the section championship
* Ford City (8-4), Springdale (8-4) and Riverview (7-5) have all clinched playoff spots
SECTION 2:
* Summit Academy (10-2) and Neshannock (10-2) have clinched a share of the section championship
* Riverside (7-5) and Ellwood City (7-5) have clinched playoff spots
SECTION 3:
* Monessen (12-0) has clinched the section championship
* Wilkinsburg (10-2), Bishop Canevin (7-5) and Steel Valley (6-6) have clinched playoff spots
SECTION 4:
* Greensburg Central Catholic (12-0) has clinched the section championship
* Jeannette (10-2), Brownsville (6-6), California (5-7) and Charleroi (5-7) have all clinched playoff spots
SECTION 5:
* Sto-Rox (10-0) has clinched the section championship
* Carlynton (6-4), Burgettstown (6-4) and Fort Cherry (5-5) have all clinched playoff spots
SECTION 6:
* Beaver Falls (12-0) has clinched the section championship
* Quaker Valley (10-2), Aliquippa (6-6) and Northgate (6-6) have all clinched playoff spots
WPIAL CLASS A – 17 TEAMS:
SECTION 1:
* Rochester (10-0) has clinched the section championship
* Lincoln Park (7-3), Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (6-4) and Cornell (5-5) have all clinched playoff spots
SECTION 2:
* Vincentian Academy (9-1) and North Catholic (9-1) have clinched a share of the section championship
* Sewickley Academy (5-5) and Quigley (5-5) have clinched playoff spots
SECTION 3:
* Avella (8-2) and Carmichaels (8-2) have clinched a share of the section championship
* Bentworth (7-3) and Jefferson-Morgan (5-5) have clinched playoff spots
SECTION 4:
* Serra Catholic (8-2) and St. Joseph (8-2) have clinched a share of the section championship
* Clairton (6-4) has clinched a playoff spot
* Leechburg (4-6) and Geibel (4-6) finished tied for the final playoff spot and were each 1-1 in the head-to-head tiebreaker, so they both clinch a playoff spot
