Greensburg Salem will vote to hire Drake D’Angelo as its athletic director, according to board agenda for Wednesday night’s meeting.

D’Angelo is the current athletic director at Burrell and would take over at Greensburg Salem upon his release from the other Westmoreland County school.

Dave Zilli, the retiring principal at Greensburg Salem, has been filling in as interim AD. He stepped in after Frank Sundry resigned in November to become an assistant principal at the school.

Sundry had been AD since 2020.

D’Angelo, a 1999 Hempfield graduate who continued his football career at Clarion before completing his education at Cal (Pa.), has worked as the senior program director at the Greensburg YMCA and has been an AD in the Littlestown and Fairfield school districts.

He became AD at Burrell in 2017.

In other agenda, Greensburg Salem will vote to approve a co-operative with Greensburg Central Catholic for boys lacrosse.
