Hempfield won their first WPIAL girls team track championship in 1984 and waited 27 years for their second crown. The wait for a third district title was a bit shorter…12 month to be exact as the Spartans won gold for a second consecutive season Thursday at Baldwin High School. Meanwhile, South Fayette captured the schools first ever girls team track gold by edging Beaver, Southmoreland and two-time defending champion Freeport.
