Cam Ponko hit two home runs in the same inning — a grand slam and a three-run shot, both in the third — to lead Penn-Trafford to a 14-1 victory over Franklin Regional in five innings in Section 2-5A softball Monday.

Erin Drotos homered and Giuluana Youngo, Allison Pokrant and Lorryn Sepe each doubled for the Warriors (4-2, 2-0). Ciara Camacho tripled for the Panthers (3-4, 0-1).

Bentworth 8, Charleroi 0 – Sydney Gonglik threw a four-hit shutout with 16 strikeouts and hit a triple and home run and Kylie Glaze also homered to lead Bentworth (4-2, 2-0) to a Section 3-2A win. Avery Pendo hit a triple and Sofia Celaschi doubled for Charleroi (4-1, 1-1).

Blackhawk 19, Beaver 9 – Keira Rodu went 4 for 4 with two doubles and four RBIs and Karma Malcolm and Mia Yenges hit a double apiece to lead Blackhawk (2-0, 1-0) to a Section 3-4A win. Kenzie Springer and Rhiannon Rabassi each hit a double for Beaver (1-4, 0-1).

Canon-McMillan 4, Butler 3 – Kiersten Williams hit a home run and Skylah Steban and Aurora Shirdon had two hits apiece to lead Canon-McMillan (2-1, 2-1) to a Section 1-6A win. Lily Vicari homered for Butler (2-2, 1-2).

Carmichaels 15, California 0 – Bailey Barnyak threw a four-inning no-hitter with nine strikeouts and went 2 for 2 and had four RBIs, and Carys McConnell and Kaitlyn Waggett hit a double apiece for Carmichaels (4-1, 1-0) in a Section 2-A win over California (0-4, 0-2).

Chartiers-Houston 15, Avella 0 – Meadow Ferri threw a four-inning no-hitter with nine strikeouts, Seanna Riggle hit a double and triple and Ella Richey hit a double and two home runs to lead Chartiers-Houston (3-1, 1-0) to a Section 2-A win over Avella (3-2, 0-1).

Elizabeth Forward 10, Belle Vernon 0 – Julia Johnson homered, doubled and had five RBIs and Shelby Telegdy struck out nine in five innings in the circle to pace Elizabeth Forward (4-0, 2-0) in a Section 2-4A win. Julia Resnik added a solo homer for the Warriors. Grace Sokol, Maddie Grisnik and Bella Williams had a hit each for Belle Vernon (6-1, 1-1).

Hempfield 11, Baldwin 1 – Allie Cervola and Claire Mitchell both singled and doubled and Ella Berkebile and Jade Varhola also hit a double apiece for Hempfield (4-0, 3-0) in a Section 1-6A win. Avery Herrington and Kaylee Smolko doubled for Baldwin (1-4, 0-3).

Laurel 15, Freedom 0 – Macie Miller belted a grand slam in the second inning to help Laurel (3-2, 1-0) top Freedom (0-2, 0-1) in three innings in Section 1-2A. Autumn Boyd also homered for the Spartans and drove in three runs.

Mars 7, South Fayette 2 – Laura Craska homered and Steph Esswein and Callie Simoni had two hits apiece to lead Mars (2-6, 1-1) to a Section 3-5A win. Maddie Cavenaugh doubled for South Fayette (3-1, 1-1).

McKeesport 4, Highlands 0 – Katherine Hrinda threw a five-hit shutout with nine strikeouts and Kendal Bercik and Madison Miller homered for McKeesport (5-1, 1-0) in a Section 1-4A win. Bailey Megats and Madison Gorney each doubled for Highlands (0-4, 0-1).

Mohawk 20, Ellwood City 1 – Mylie Pistorius hit a double and triple and Gianna Pezzuolo tripled for Mohawk (5-1, 1-0) in a Section 2-3A win. Ellie Kalantzias singled for Ellwood City (4-1, 1-0). Alivia Hare, Addy Moskal, Aricka Young and Lydia Cole each doubled for the Warriors.

Montour 16, Ambridge 6 – Shania Cope had two doubles and three RBIs and Cayley Hughes, Delaney Barto and Danielle Terpack each hit a triple for Montour (1-1, 1-1) in a Section 3-4A win. Macy Smith went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs for Ambridge (0-4, 0-1).

Neshannock 15, Aliquippa 0 – Addy Frye threw a three-inning perfect game with nine strikeouts for Neshannock (2-0, 1-0) in a Section 1-2A win over Aliquippa (0-1, 0-1). Ali Giordano, Gabby Perod and Gabby Quinn each hit a double for the Lancers.

Peters Township 10, Trinity 9 – Skylar Lemasky doubled and homered and Makenzie Morgan had three hits, including a double, and two RBIs to lead Peters Township (4-3, 1-0) to a Section 4-5A win. Audra Handke doubled and drove in a run for Peters. Hanna Suchoski and Remmie Seitz homered and Emily Hasson had a single, double and three RBIs for Trinity (4-2, 0-1).

Plum 17, Oakland Catholic 2 – Liana Yusko hit a double and home run and Brooke Bernosky hit two doubles to lead Plum (4-2, 1-1) to a Section 1-5A win. Madison Pullen singled for Oakland Catholic (1-2, 0-1).

Seneca Valley 8, Mt. Lebanon 0 – Lexie Hames threw six no-hit innings with 17 strikeouts and Lauren Folino threw a no-hit inning as well, leading Seneca Valley (7-0, 4-0) to a Section 1-6A win over Mt. Lebanon (0-5, 0-3). Bella Gross went 3 for 4 with two doubles and four RBIs and Folino and Neve Miller hit a double apiece.

Serra Catholic 11, Brentwood 1 – Madisyn Zigarovich went 3 for 3, Cassidy Trahan tripled and Bailey Dayton doubled for Serra Catholic (2-1, 1-0) in a Section 2-2A win. Izabella Fedunok and Mia March each hit a double for Brentwood (1-2, 0-1).

Shenango 10, New Brighton 0 – Winning pitcher Kennedi Lynn struck out 14 and went 4 for 5 for Shenango (1-3, 1-0) in Section 1-2A. Liza Lambert singled for New Brighton (1-3, 0-1).

Thomas Jefferson 2, Bethel Park 1 – Adalina Bracco and Morgan Alisesky hit a double apiece to lead Thomas Jefferson (3-2, 1-0) past Bethel Park (2-4, 0-1) in a Section 4-5A win.

Upper St. Clair 11, Connellsville 7 – Brooklyn Kemp went 3 for 3, Sydney Fisher hit two doubles and Caroline Barnard doubled to lead Upper St. Clair (3-3, 1-0) past Connellsville (4-3, 0-1) in a Section 4-5A win. Cali Leichliter doubled for the Falcons.

Baseball

Carlynton 15, Cornell 0 – Eric Firle pitched a four-inning no-hitter with seven strikeouts and went 2 for 3 with a double and three RBIs for Carlynton (5-4, 3-2) in a Section 3-A win over Cornell (0-2, 0-1). Jake Moldovan contributed a pair of doubles and RBIs for the Cougars.

Carmichaels 11, Springdale 2 – Dominic Colarusso singled, doubled and drove in four runs to help Carmichaels (4-0) in a nonsection win. Robbie Wilson-Jones smacked a pair of doubles and had an RBI for the Mighty Mikes. Noah Robbins and Dustin Werksman drove in a run apiece for Springdale (1-1).

Central Valley 4, Ambridge 1 – Blake Heater belted two singles and had a pair of RBIs for Central Valley (3-3, 2-0) in a Section 1-4A win. Cameron Miller singled three times for the Warriors. Grant Uvodich tripled for Ambridge (1-2, 0-1).

Charleroi 18, Bentworth 1 – Brock Henderson went 3 for 3 with a double and Kaden Woods drove in three runs to lead Charleroi (3-2, 1-1) in Section 1-2A. John Scott doubled and drove in a run for Bentworth (0-4, 0-3).

Chartiers-Houston 9, Beth-Center 3 – Nico Filosi had three RBIs and Anthony Romano had three hits, including a pair of doubles, for Chartiers-Houston (1-3, 1-1) in a Section 1-2A victory. Ethan Varesko singled and drove in a pair for Beth-Center (3-3, 1-2).

Elizabeth Forward 16, Woodland Hills 1 – Kaden Faychak hit two doubles and had four RBIs to lead Elizabeth Forward (4-2, 1-2) to a Section 3-4A win over Woodland Hills (0-3, 0-1). Cy Herchelroath, Charlie Nigut, Joseph Crovak, Jacob Peterson and Landon Jackson each hit a double for the Warriors.

Fort Cherry 3, California 1 – Ryan Huey pitched a complete game two-hitter with nine strikeouts for Fort Cherry (3-0, 1-0) in a Section 1-A victory over California (2-4, 2-1). Matt Sieg and Tyler Wolfe had an RBI single each for the Rangers.

Fox Chapel 3, Gateway 0 – Mitchell Epstein had two hits and an RBI and Blake Krushinski and Christian Wilkinson combined on the shutout as Fox Chapel (5-2, 4-1) beat Gateway (0-6, 0-2) in Section 1-5A. Krushinski gave up three hits and struck out eight in four innings. Wilkinson did not allow a hit and fanned five. Ahmad Harris doubled for Gateway.

Frazier 7, Washington 2 – Tyler Monack, Dalian McManus and Aiden Hardy each hit a double to lead Frazier (3-1, 2-1) to a Section 1-2A win. William Callan tripled and Tyler Bainer doubled for Washington (3-2, 2-1).

Indiana 6, Knoch 4 – Indiana scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth to break a 4-4 tie and went on to earn a Section 4-4A win. Ethan Shank had two hits, including a double, and a RBI for the Little Indians (3-1, 1-0). Logan Cypher doubled in a pair for Knoch (2-3, 1-1).

Latrobe 12, Ringgold 3 – Luke Nipar-Smith went 2 for 3 with a home run and five RBIs, Jacob Cramer tripled, and Vince Gaskey doubled and had three RBIs to lead Latrobe (5-1, 2-0) to a Section 2-4A win. Amoni Ward doubled for Ringgold (2-3, 0-1).

Montour 10, Beaver 4 – Ryan Gamble homered and Maddox Tarquinio doubled and drove in a pair to lead Montour (4-1, 1-0) to a Section 1-4A win. Jonathan Cecil, Joshua Peremba and Jake Robinson doubled for the Spartans. Ronald Sebak singled, doubled and drove in a run for Beaver (4-5, 0-3).

Mt. Lebanon 7, Central Catholic 3 – Jake Tinnemeyer hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the top of the eighth to lead Mt. Lebanon (6-2, 3-1) to a Section 2-6A win. Tinnemeyer went 3 for 4, David Shields had two hits and two RBIs, and Nate Girod singled, doubled and drove in a run for the Blue Devils. CJ Proch homered and hit a game-tying RBI single in the bottom of the seventh for Central Catholic (3-5, 0-4). Landon Greene doubled, tripled and drove in a run.

Neshannock 6, Ellwood City 1 – Boyd Kurutz went 2 for 2 and Giovanni Valentine doubled to lead Neshannock (2-4, 1-2) to a Section 1-3A win. Jacob Biskup and Jordan Keller had two hits apiece for Ellwood City (3-3, 1-3).

North Allegheny 8, Butler 6 – Mason Smith hit a double and two triples and JJ Mancuso and David Posey each doubled to lead North Allegheny (4-0, 1-0) to a Section 1-6A win. Noah Collins homered for Butler (3-3, 1-2).

OLSH 8, Laurel 7 – Brandon Brazell drew a walk-off walk in the bottom of the seventh to lead OLSH (4-3, 3-0) to a Section 2-2A victory. Brandon Brazell went 2 for 3 with a double, Brady Brazell doubled and drove in a pair and Gino Williams had two hits for the Chargers. Jacob McBride went 3 for 4 with two RBIs for Laurel.

Penn-Trafford 3, Plum 2 – Ian Temple hit the go-ahead RBI single in the top of the eighth and Hunter Brown pitched three scoreless innings to lead Penn-Trafford (6-1, 4-1) to a Section 1-5A win. Chuck Fontana singled and doubled and Eric Biroscak knocked in a run for the Warriors. Dom Beyer had three hits and Jack Anderson had two hits for Plum (4-3, 2-1).

Riverside 7, Shenango 1 – Christian Lucarelli struck out a dozen over five innings and Darren McDade doubled and drove in four runs to help Riverside coach Dan Oliastro earn his 700th career win in a Section 1-3A victory over Shenango (3-3, 2-1). Ashton Schlosser added three hits, including a double, for the Panthers (4-0, 3-0). Christian Hooks had an RBI double for the Wildcats.

Thomas Jefferson 16, McKeesport 1 – Luke Kosko had three doubles and five RBIs to power Thomas Jefferson (7-0, 1-0) to a Section 3-4A win. Elias Lipincott went 3 for 3 and Carter Kirsch singled, doubled and drove in three for the Jaguars. Brayden Lindsey had a hit and an RBI for McKeesport (0-4, 0-1).

Seton LaSalle 20, Northgate 0 – Aric White went 4 for 4 and had three RBIs and Mark Weber homered for Seton LaSalle (4-1, 3-0) in a Section 2-2A win over Northgate (0-4, 0-1).

Trinity 6, Peters Township 3 – Matthew Robaugh went 3 for 4 with a double and a pair of RBIs for Trinity (3-1, 2-0) in a Section 2-5A win. Luke Lacock singled and plated two runs for the Hillers. Zachary Miner had an RBI double for Peters Township (2-4, 0-1).

Girls lacrosse

Hampton 14, Greensburg Salem 3 – Lindsay Fiscus and Ava Galuska recorded a hat trick each to lead Hampton past Greensburg Salem in Section 1-2A.

Plum 20, Yough 7 – Rayla Smith scored four goals, including the 200th of her career, and Sophie Anderson and Natalie Wagner each scored three to lead Plum to a Section 1-2A win. Bella DeFrancesca and Carly Venanzi each scored twice for the Mustangs.

Upper St. Clair 11, Peters Township 10 (OT) – Anna Capobres’ fifth goal of the game was the overtime winner and the 150th goal of her career as Upper St. Clair won in Section 1-3A. Mea Musillo scored four goals and Kat Mammarella added two.
