Lilah Turnbull scored 25 points to lead No. 5 Chartiers Valley to a 34-26 victory over No. 4 Mt. Lebanon in the WPIAL Class 6A girls basketball quarterfibnals Thursday night.

The Colts (16-6), who took control of the game with an 8-2 advantage in the second quarter, will face No. 1 Norwin in Monday’s semifinals. Payton Collins scored 10 points for the Blue Devils (12-11).

Aquinas Academy 47, Eden Christian 31 – Tess Duer scored 13 points and Ellie Junker added 11 to lead No. 2 Aquinas Academy (16-6) to a Class A quarterfinal win. The Crusaders will face No. 3 St. Joseph in Monday’s semifinals. Emmi Smith scored nine points for No. 10 Eden Christian (9-14).

North Allegheny 44, Upper St. Clair 41 – Caroline Henderson scored 24 points, hitting six 3-pointers, and Lydia Betz added nine points to push No. 3 North Allegheny (21-2) to a Class 6A quarterfinal win. The Tigers will face No. 2 Peters Township in Monday’s semifinals. Meredith Huzjak scored 17 points and Olivia Terlecki had 11 for No. 6 Upper St. Clair (12-11).

Peters Township 58, Pine-Richland 46 – Natalie Wetzel scored 30 points to lead No. 2 Peters Township (22-1) to a Class 6A quarterfinal win. Gemma Walker added 13 points for the Indians, who will face No. 3 North Allegheny in Monday’s semifinals. Madison Zavasky scored 32 points for No. 7 Pine-Richland (8-14).

St. Joseph 66, Bishop Canevin 36 – Julie Spinelli scored 24 points and Emma Swierczewski added 18 to lead No. 3 St. Joseph (20-3) to a Class A quarterfinal win. Gia Richter added 16 for the Spartans, who will meet No. 2 Aquinas Academy in Monday’s semifinals. Amari Elliott scored 13 for No. 6 Bishop Canevin (7-14).

Union 59, West Greene 16 – Kelly Cleaver scored 16 points to lead No. 1 Union (17-5) to a Class A quarterfinal win over No. 8 West Greene (10-14). Kylie Fruehstorfer and Mia Preuhs added 11 points each for the Scotties, who will face No. 4 Riverview in Monday’s semifinals.

Boys basketball

Mohawk 54, Yough 48 – Sophomore Bobby Fadden scored his 1,000th career-point while leading No. 2 Mohawk (16-7) with 28 points in a Class 3A quarterfinal win. Jay Wrona added 16 points for the Warriors, who will meet No. 11 Burrell in Monday’s semifinals. Terek Crosby led with 23 points and Austin Matthews had 10 for No. 7 Yough (19-5).

Moon 63, Fox Chapel 50 – Charlie Depner scored 22 points to lead top-seeded Moon to a 63-50 victory over No. 8 Fox Chapel in the WPIAL Class 5A boys basketball quarterfinals Thursday night. Caden Schmidt added 14 points and Elijah Guillory had 12 for the Tigers (21-3), who jumped out to a 20-9 lead after one quarter. Moon will face No. 4 Thomas Jefferson in the semifinals Monday. Jefferson Moorefield-Brown scored 21 points and Thomas Patterson added a career-high 13 for the Foxes (13-11).

Cheswick Christian Academy 66, Harvest Baptist Academy 38 – Sean Louis scored 18 points and Joseph Rosio added 16 to lead Cheswick Christian to a win in the Southwestern Christian Athletic Conference semifinals. Grant Rochkind added 15 points and 12 rebounds and Brady Rochkind finished with 10 points for the Chargers, who will meet Pittsburgh Christian Academy in the championship game Saturday. Austin Holcomb led Harvest Baptist with 16 points.

Hockey

Beaver 8, Wheeling Catholic 4 – Zack Masters had a hat trick and Carson Cuddy added two goals to lead Beaver (10-8-1) to a Class A win. Landon Prager scored two goals and had an assist for Wheeling Catholic (7-11-1).

Carrick 13, Sewickley Academy 1 – Ivan Manculich and Drew Bird each had a hat trick and Christian Cole and Frank Christopher added two goals apiece for Carrick (12-4-1) in a Varsity D2 win. Jacob Stanislaw scored for Sewickley Academy (0-17-1).

Central Catholic 5, Upper St. Clair 1 – Noah Hritz scored twice and Thomas Puhalla made 27 saves to lead Central Catholic (10-8-1) to a Class 3A win. Josh Moline, Judah Brophy and Doug Berthold also scored and Aaron Daley had two assists for Central Catholic. Eli Rankin scored for Upper St. Clair (10-6-3).

Chartiers Valley 4, Moon 0 – Brady Nairn scored twice, Noah Callender had a goal and two assists, Chris DeAngelis added a goal and an assist, and Matthew Colberg made 20 saves to power Chartiers Valley (19-0) to a Class A win. Logan Cordle made 45 saves for Moon (11-9).

Greensburg Salem 7, Indiana 2 – Hunter Webb and Carter Cherok scored two goals each and Noah Outly, Cooper Outly and Luke Dieter added a goal apiece for Greensburg Salem (13-5-1) in a Class A win. Gabe Nettleton scored two goals for Indiana (15-3-1).

Hempfield 4, Franklin Regional 1 – Alex Smillie had a hat trick and Nick Crupie added a goal to lead Hempfield (9-9-1) to a Class 2A win. Jackson Falkner scored for Franklin Regional (10-7-1).

Mt. Lebanon 12, Baldwin 4 – Connor Ribstein had a hat trick and added an assist, Liam Shinn racked up a goal and four assists, and Graham Resler collected a goal and three assists to lead Mt. Lebanon (11-7-1) in Class 3A. Sawyer Klasnick added four assists and Jacob Lehman and Brayden Wertz each scored twice for Mt. Lebanon. Nate Buys had a goal and an assist for Baldwin (1-16-2).

North Allegheny 3, Bethel Park 2 – Aidan Anthony and Alex Costa scored third-period goals to lead North Allegheny (13-4-2) to a comeback win in Class 3A. Evan Kerber also scored and Ravi Desai and Luke Walkauskas each had two assists for NA. Tyler Kellgren and Mason Devett-Raeder scored for Bethel Park (9-8-1).

Plum 5, Wheeling Park 1 – Rylan Schoonover and Brody Howell scored two goals apiece, AJ Leah added a goal and an assist and Landon Gribbin-Horner made 33 saves to lead Plum (12-6-1) to a Class A win. Luke Simonetti scored for Wheeling Park (14-6).

Shaler 7, Meadville 6 – Jacob Kunc’s second goal of the game was the winner with nine seconds to play as Shaler (15-3-2) won in Class A. Chase Irwin had a hat trick and added an assist and Luca Wallander and Blake Whiteman also scored for Shaler. Rocco Tartaglione had a hat trick and Zach Schepner added two goals and two assists for Meadville (11-6-3), which erased a 6-3 deficit with three third-period goals.

South Fayette 8, North Hills 0 – Bennett Malky had three goals and an assist, Tyler Brandebura scored twice, Nathaniel Keller had a goal and two assists, and Shea Cooney added a goal and an assist for South Fayette (16-1-2) in a Class 2A win over North Hills (0-19).
