High school roundup for March 29, 2019: North Allegheny edges Shaler

Ryan Dougherty scored on a wild pitch to give North Allegheny a 2-1 walk-off victory over Shaler in a nonsection game Friday.
Daugherty finished 2 for 2 with two doubles. Shane Murphy was 2 for 3 with two doubles, and Anthony Hattrup had an RBI for the Tigers (2-2). Zach Trdinich struck out four in two innings to earn the win.
Zach Hernon was 2 for 3 with two doubles and an RBI for Shaler (2-2).
Bethel Park 13, Latrobe 3 (6 inn.) — Anthony Strangis had three hits and three RBIs, and Payten Miller knocked in three runs, as Bethel Park (2-1) cruised past Latrobe (3-1) in a nonsection game. Matt Henderson had the lone extra base hit for the Wildcats, who scored a run in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
Brownsville 8, Charleroi 7 — Derek Timko drew a walk with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning as Brownsville (3-0) secured a nonsection win. Hunter Perry was 3 for 4 for Charleroi (1-1).
Seneca Valley 7, Mt. Lebanon 5 — Seneca Valley rallied from a 5-0 deficit to earn a nonsection victory. Mark Trotta doubled, homered and had two RBIs, and Josh McLean had three hits, including a homer and three RBIs, for the Raiders (4-0).
Serra Catholic 11, Bishop Canevin 1 (6 inn.) — Mark Black hit two doubles, and Logan Exler picked up the win as Serra Catholic (4-1) rolled to a nonsection victory.
South Park, Morgan County, Ky. 3 — Derek Kalafatis homered to help South Park (3-1) win in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
West Allegheny 4, Keystone Oaks 0 — Logan Scheider had the lone hit for West Allegheny (3-0), but the Indians secured a nonsection win over Keystone Oaks. Will Douglas earned the win for West Allegheny.
Mason Brooks was 3 for 3 for Keystone Oaks (0-1).
Yough 11, Steel Valley 0 (6 inn.) — Mike Bell tossed a five-hitter, and Ray Halahurich had three hits and three RBIs as Yough scored a nonsection win over host Steel Valley (1-3) at West Field in Munhall.
Cody Ulander was 3 for 5 with a double, and Steven Manon was 2 for 3 for the Cougars (2-1), who surpassed the 10-run mercy rule in the sixth innings.
Softball
Avonworth 14, Seton LaSalle 4 (5 inn.) — Natalie Marshall was 3 for 3 with two RBIs, and Sarah Helffrich doubled twice and had two RBIs as Avonworth (6-0) won a nonsection game.
Mapletown 14, Turkeyfoot Valley (5 inn.) — Faith Burkholder-Walter had three hits, and Hannah Hartley smacked two doubles as Mapletown (1-0) won a nonsection game.
West Mifflin 6, Keystone Oaks 2 — Isabella Farmer went 3 for 3 with a double to guide West Mifflin (5-0) to a nonsection victory.
