Highlands’ Johnny Crise picks up football scholarship offer from Fordham

Already a potential Division I basketball player, Johnny Crise now can add football to the mix.
The Highlands junior received his first Division I football scholarship offer Saturday from Football Championship Subdivision school Fordham.

The 6-foot-7 Crise starred at wide receiver for Highlands as a junior, catching 40 passes for 796 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Crise’s breakout game came in Week 1 against Keystone Oaks, when he caught 10 passes for 301 yards and five touchdowns, with the yards and touchdowns setting new Highlands single-game records. He also caught a 99-yard touchdown in that game from Seth Cohen, setting another school record.
The football offer adds a wrinkle to Crise’s recruitment, as he has a pair of Division I offers, from Robert Morris and USC Upstate. He averaged 16.8 points, 11.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game during his junior basketball season.
