It took over 48 hours, but Chartiers-Houston (10-6, 8-4) was finally able to take down Fort Cherry by a 15-0 score in a three inning mercy rule win on Wednesday at Allison Park Elementary School Field.

The game, which was started on Monday and finished on Wednesday due to lightning and heavy rain, saw the Bucs draw 15 walks and have 4 batters hit by pitches.

Kassie Kesneck picked up the win for Chartiers-Houston, going three innings, while surrendering only two hits, striking out three and walking just one batter. Kesneck was also one of four players to record multiple runs batted in at the plate.

Megan Kraushaar and Macie Kesneck brought in three runs each, while Jessica Blumen added a pair. Macie Kesneck doubles and singled for the Bucs, while Kraushaar, Haley Sutton and Kayla Alderson also notched hits.

The win solidified a playoff spot for the Bucs, who defeated McGuffey on Tuesday, 8-6. The win was revenge for a 21-4 beat down on April 9.

Fort Cherry (0-15, 0-12) finishes the season on a 41-game losing streak and lost via the mercy rule in 14 of their 15 games this year. They received hits from Jodi Depaoli and Kylie Lindley, but were plagued by wild pitching the whole way. Ten of the 15 runs for Chartiers-Houston were brought in on bases-loaded walks or hit batters.

The Bucs will now head to the WPIAL Playoffs, where they will face defending AA Champion Riverside in the first round on Tuesday at 4pm at Fairhaven Park.
