North Catholic’s Anthony Serventi decided where he will play college football.
On Thursday, the 5-foot-11, 195-pound North Catholic senior announced his commitment to Dayton via his Twitter account.

After a visit to Dayton’s campus in January, before the coronavirus pandemic paused recruitment for most high school athletes, Serventi said he fell in love with the school.
“It was so nice and it just felt like a great fit socially, athletically, and academically,” Serventi said.
Throughout his recruitment, Serventi had received a few other offers and had spoken with Clarion, Washington & Jefferson, Baldwin Wallace and a few other schools, but he felt like Dayton was the best fit for him.
During his time at North Catholic, Serventi was a big part on both sides of the ball. During his senior year, he caught 25 passes for 322 yards, averaging 12.9 yards per catch and also carried the ball 97 times for a team-high 754 yards. He also scored a team-high 15 touchdowns as the Trojans finished 8-2 and lost to South Park in the quarterfinals of the WPIAL Class 3A playoffs.
Serventi played safety, which is what Dayton recruited him as, on defense and helped the Trojans hold seven of their 10 opponents to 20 points or less. Even though he played both sides of the ball, the running back/safety said it doesn’t matter where Dayton wants to play him, he just wants to get on the field.
“I honestly don’t really have a preference. I just want to play,” Serventi said.
Serventi was also a part of North Catholic’s WPIAL championship basketball team.
