Peters Township & Sewickley Academy Win WPIAL Boys Team Golf Titles

Following a three year hiatus, Peters Township is back on top of the WPIAL Class AAA boys golf world after claiming the title Thursday afternoon at the Cedar Brook Golf Course in Belle Vernon. The Indians won by 18 strokes over runner-up Pine-Richland while 2013 champion Upper St. Clair finished in fifth place, two spots behind 2012 team champion Pittsburgh Central Catholic. Jake Sollon led the way for Peters Township with a low score of 72. The championship is the fifth in school history for the Indians. In the Class AA finals, Sewickley Academy was able to add to its golden collection by shooting a 402, 20 strokes better than second place Burgettstown to win a second straight WPIAL AA golf title. Anthony Muscato led the Panthers with a score of 74.

Here are ALL of the results from the 2014 WPIAL Class AAA and Class AA Boys Team Golf Championships Thursday at the Cedar Brook Golf Club in Belle Vernon. Both Peters Township and Sewickley Academy qualify for the PIAA Team Championships on Wednesday, October 22nd at Heritage Hills Golf Resort and Conference Center in York.
