Peters Township’s Natalie Wetzel commits to play basketball at Miami (Fla).

Peters Township rising senior Natalie Wetzel, one of the WPIAL’s top girls basketball recruits, had college offers that stretched from New England to the Southwest.

Ultimately, the 6-foot-3 forward has decided to head south to the Sunshine State. Wetzel committed to Miami (Fla.) on Tuesday, choosing the Hurricanes over offers from more than two dozen other schools.

She announced her decision on social media.

Wetzel averaged 17.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists last season for Peters Township, which won 24 games and reached the WPIAL Class 6A semifinals. She earned a spot on the TribLive HSSN Terrific 10.

Her list of college offers included Pitt, Robert Morris, Georgetown, Columbia, St. John’s, Seton Hall, Richmond, Eastern Michigan, Monmouth, Toledo, Princeton, Murray State, Ball State, Penn, Harvard, St. Joseph’s, Belmont, Boston College, Dayton, Arizona State, Buffalo, Tulsa, George Mason, Davidson and Kent State.
