We rank the top WPIAL teams in each class every Sunday and follow up with our PIAA rankings every Monday during the high school basketball season.
The first edition of the PIAA girls’ basketball rankings features seven WPIAL teams, including the top two in Class 5A and a pair in Class 3A.
The rankings also include all six defending state champions.
Here is the PIAA Top Five in each of the six classifications for the week of Dec. 16.
