PIHL sets Penguins Cup playoff matchups

Peters Township, South Fayette and Ringgold will be out to defend their crowns as the PIHL Penguins Cup playoffs get into full swing Monday and Tuesday.
Peters Township will be looking to win its third straight championship in Class 3A. South Fayette in Class 2A and Ringgold in Varsity D2 will try to go back-to-back. Defending Class A champ Kiski didn’t qualify for the playoffs this year.
The postseason began this week with four play-in games in Class A. Moon, Greensburg Salem, Shaler and North Catholic won those games to take their place in the quarterfinals.
The finals are set for March 18-19 at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry.
