Pittsburgh Passion set for matchup with 5-time defending league champs

It’s the football game the Pittsburgh Passion players have circled all season.
On Saturday, the Passion play host to the Women’s Football Alliance version of the New England Patriots, the perennially powerful Boston Renegades, who recently had a 42-game winning streak halted by the St. Louis Slam. They defeated the Slam for the 2023 league title.
The game is 6 p.m. Saturday at Slippery Rock University’s Mihalik Thompson Stadium.
The Passion are 4-0 and the Renegades are 3-1.
Both teams have a powerful offense.
Passion linebacker Jennifer Bova said the team has a great bond and is ready for the challenge they’ll receive from the Renegades, who ended the Passions’ 27-game winning streak in 2017.
The Renegades have won five consecutive league titles. They defeated the Passion twice in 2023 (61-0 and 32-12).
The Passion has defeated Alabama (36-7), D.C. Divas (54-29), New York (51-6) and Tampa Bay (38-20).
The Renegades defeated Tampa Bay (47-0), Alabama (56-6) and New York (90-7). They lost to the Slam (36-27).
