Shaler wins PIAA spirit title
The Shaler competitive spirit team had plenty to cheer about Saturday afternoon.
The Titans won the PIAA small squad title with 92.27 points.
Defending champion Bethel Park was second with 90.37, and Hampton took fourth with 80.07. Pine-Richland (75.6) finished sixth, and Franklin Regional (75.33) was seventh.
Baldwin (80.9) was fourth, North Allegheny (80.53) fifth, Hempfield (73.93) ninth and Penn-Trafford (73.93) 10th in the medium-squad division.
In the large-squad division, Elizabeth Forward (80.57) finished sixth.
Squads were judged on a 2-minute, 30-second routine that included at least one cheer or sideline chant, as well as a musical/dance portion.
