2013 PIHL Open Class Hockey Playoffs
February 24, 2013
Two champions have been crowned in the PIHL high school hockey Open Class Playoffs Thursday night. Wheeling Park laid claim to the 2013 Nailer Cup title with a victory over Morgantown while Ford City defeated Indiana to win the Chiefs Cup championship. 2013 WPIAL Class AA Individual Wrestling Results
The Class AA WPIAL Championships had a lot of variety to the weekend, with 12 total schools being represented at the top of the podium at Chartiers Valley. Burrell led the way with 3 Champions, including Senior Phil Marra at 145, Senior Dakota DesLauriers at 182, and Sophomore Alan Beattie at 285. 11 other schools brought home individual gold, including Burgettstown, Derry, South Side, South Park, Kittanning, Charleroi, Freedom, South Fayette, Jefferson-Morgan, Chartiers-Houston, and Avella.

WPIAL Basketball Playoff Recaps From Saturday, February 23rd
Quarterfinals Saturday in the WPIAL Basketball Playoffs was a little wild, a tad crazy and a bit one-sided as well. Boys Class AAAA made history with all four Section 3 teams winning to make it to the Semifinals while in Boys AA, Burrell, Quaker Valley and Apollo-Ridge won to eliminate seeds 2, 3 and 4. South Fayette’s Stephen Zombek & Mohawk’s McKenzie Stelter Win WPIAL Class AA Diving Gold
The winter WPIAL diving championships began early Friday afternoon at South Park High School in South Park with nine invitations to the PIAA state diving championships up for grabs.The boys field saw a lot of familiar faces carry over from the 2012 competition into 2013's. With the exception of South Park's Bill Rountree, the top six divers from last year were in the field this year. The success of each of these divers had indeed carried over into Friday's dive. The sixteen diver field had a lot of great dives and a few duds during the duration of the competition. Going into the semifinals and the final round the group had narrowed itself down to three divers vying for the number one spot.
