There are 64 cars that will head out and ride in two weeks on the Highway to Heinz. So far through seven weeks, more than half (34) of those vehicles have clinched their ticket to ride. Many more joined them tonight on the Eighth Friday of the high school football season. The Peters Township girls tennis team made it back-to-back championships Thursday afternoon while Sewickley Academy was unable to win a second straight golden crown Friday as they fell to Quaker Valley.. The title is the second straight for Peters Township, their third crown in four years and fourth golden racquet in school history. The Quakers championship is their second in three years and sixth overall. There were no district championships at stake Monday afternoon, just a spot in the upcoming PIAA state golf championships. 34 WPIAL and Pittsburgh City League golfers have qualified with 11 from Boys AAA, 12 from Boys AA, 6 from Girls AAA and 5 from Girls AA. So since we are in Stetch Run mode, we don't have to feel guilty about enjoying extra pleasures and get a little bloated on great performances from the Seventh Saturday of the season.Connor Slomka and Ernest Williams - Pine-RichlandLike any great duo through the years, one delivers the early shots while the other comes in and finishes the deal.
