Chalk. That is how MOST of the opening round in the 2011 WPIAL Girls Volleyball Playoffs went on Wednesday and Thursday. A busy Friday night of high school football action in Week Eight left only four WPIAL games to be played on the next to the last Saturday of the regular season. Two teams were looking to secure the top-seed in their conference while another was trying to secure a playoff berth. Some great action in Week 8 of the college football slate. Slippery Rock remains on top of the PSAC West and sends Lock Haven into the conference history books. Peters Township in AAA, Mars in AA and Shady Side Academy in A are the three defending champions and two of those three are top-seeds this year as well.
