MSA Sports Ranks the WPIAL Softball Playoff Teams

The 2011 WPIAL Softball Playoff field is set with 13 teams in Class AAAA, 15 in both Class AAA and Class AA and 16 in Class A. The brackets will be unveiled by the WPIAL on Thursday with the playoffs set to start next week. India McCoy is bar hopping like few girls have in the history of the WPIAL. McCoy is only a sophomore at Ambridge, but she already has established herself as one of the best high jumpers in league history. Aliquippa and Pitt wide receiver Jonathan Baldwin was the only former WPIAL football player taken in the First Round of the 2011 NFL Draft on Thursday night. The decision might come as a surprise to some because college interest was starting to pick up in Mason, who led the WPIAL in scoring last season at 33.3 points and scored 64 in one game. Butler University coach Brad Stevens came to watch Mason work out at Highlands last week and requested grade transcripts on Mason. No scholarship offer was made.
