Two players from perennial power Mt. Lebanon and three sophomores highlight the 2011 MSA Sports All-Netters team. The team is made up of the top 10 players in the WPIAL and split into a first- and second-team. The squad was selected by the MSA Sports staff. The 2011 WPIAL softball season is set to begin on Friday, March 25th. Two district teams are defending STATE champions in Mount Lebanon and Chartiers-Houston, while the Blue Devils, Montour Spartans, Valley Vikings and Vincentian Academy Royals now begin defense of their WPIAL titles, even though the Vikings have moved up from Class AA to Class AAA.WPIAL Baseball – 2011 Season Preview

There is plenty of silver to be found in Southwestern Pennsylvania following the state basketball championships at Penn State University. Mount Lebanon in AAAA, Montour in AAA, Greensburg Central Catholic in AA and Lincoln Park in A all lost in the state finals in Happy Valley, three of them fell to District 12 powers while Mount Lebanon lost to the District 1 champs.Penguins Cup Winners USC, B.Canevin and Mars Sweep 2011 PA Cup Championships

For a third straight year, the Mount Lebanon Blue Devils are sitting on top in Pennsylvania in Class AAAA. It wasn't pretty, but he Blue Devils were golden again by hanging on to a one point victory. Imohtep Charter won their second PIAA Class AA basketball champions and there was no double overtime this time as the Panthers smoked the Greensburg Central Catholic Centurions 67-34 on Saturday at the Bryce Jordan Center. 10 different players scored for the Panthers as they exploded in the second half to claim the gold.Mount Lebanon Takes Chester To OT Before Falling in Boys AAAA Championship

Last weekend put a stamp on the end of yet another season of fantastic wrestling. The WPIAL produced 5 state champions and 48 total medallists (24 in both AA and AAA) over that time in Hershey.
