Six of the eight WPIAL boys soccer teams playing in the state playoffs won their opening round contest and are moving on to the second round, including district champions Upper St. Clair in AAA and Hampton in AA. It was rare air in the 2009 District 8 football finals as Pittsburgh City League powers Perry and Brashear were spectators for a game they were often participants in.
