The Parkway Conference in Class AAA and the Eastern Conference in Class A were both 4-0 in WPIAL first-round football playoff games last week. That is impressive, but not unheard of in the WPIAL. The number of WPIAL playoff spots available is shrinking fast after Friday nights high school football action. There are only four WPIAL games on Saturday, all of which have some sort of playoff implication. Sadly, injuries to key players around the WPIAL continue to steal headlines. Mike Caputo of West Allegheny last week, now Lafayette Pitts of Woodland Hills and Wayne Capers of Chartiers Valley each sitting out Week Two with injuries.
