Let's first get something straight about geography. Section 1 of WPIAL Class A is known as the Eastern Conference. It used to be a fitting name because most of the teams in the conference were from the Eastern area. The beat continued in Class A last year as powers Clairton and Rochester met at Heinz Field for the third time in the last six years. After a hectic finish decided on a missed two-point conversion, the Bears edged the Rams 14-13 and celebrated back-to-back WPIAL crowns and their third district title in the past four year.
