November 9, 2013
In a span of back-to-back postseason Friday nights, we have gone from the Sweet Sixteen in each classification, down to the Elite Eight and now at the halfway point...The Final Four. Some of the performances from the second Friday night in November were flashy and record-setting while others were work-man-like and rock solid. Big Game Hunting – The Football Fourpack for Week 11
November 6, 2013
Quarterfinals! They are all big now, makes my job a little more difficult but, don’t cry for me Argentina! I will keep my promise to bring you what I think will be the biggest game in each of the classifications. Exit number two on the Highway to Heinz is approaching. There were not a huge amount of upsets in the first round but certainly a couple and some games that were a lot closer than most thought they would be. That is just another of the reasons WPIAL playoff football is such a blast. Now you have to be extra careful about choosing where you will go, you don’t want to miss a great game. We go eclectic here in the penultimate week of the 2013 WPIAL regular season. A pair of teams battling it out for one of the quickly dwindling spots in AAAA, a pair of teams trying to stave off elimination in AAA, a huge rivalry with a division championship on the line in AA, and a non-conference tilt with heavy, high-seeding implications on the line in A.
