They are few and far between, but we have seen teams pull off perfect football seasons before in the WPIAL. However the new kids on the block in Class AAA went for perfection in a different way that has never been done before. One Season - One Championship. After the 2009 school year, Center High School and Monaca High School merged to form a new school district.

CTK 2011 – WPIAL 7:00pm Kickoffs
There are 126 schools in the WPIAL that field a high school football team. While a majority still begin at 7:30pm, 38 of them now kickoff their home games at 7:00pm, including the enire Class AAA Keystone Conference. 2010-2011 MSA Sports Female Athlete of the Year – Shatori Walker-Kimbrough

Ask Hopewell High School's Shatori Walker-Kimbrough what she likes to do away from sports and she will tell you eat ice cream.  Although Walker-Kimbrough said her favorite flavor is strawberry with sprinkles on top she said she likes all kinds. Her ice-cream tastes imitate her fondness for athletics .

10th MSA Sports Athletes of the Year Coming 7/1/11

MSA Sports has just concluded its 12th season of high school sports coverage in Western Pennsylvania ten years under the Management Science Associates umbrella. Another anniversary of sorts is coming Friday with the announcement of the 10th MSA Sports Male and Female Athletes of the Year.

Scholastic Notebook – 04/25/2011

The decision might come as a surprise to some because college interest was starting to pick up in Mason, who led the WPIAL in scoring last season at 33.3 points and scored 64 in one game. Butler University coach Brad Stevens came to watch Mason work out at Highlands last week and requested grade transcripts on Mason. No scholarship offer was made.

Scholastic Notebook – 04/08/2011

It was in the mid 1970s and young Riverside High School baseball coach Dan Oliastro drafted a letter of resignation. There are 500 reasons why Riverside is glad Oliastro never handed in that letter to the school board. On Thursday, Oliastro won his 500th career game as Riversides coach when the Panthers defeated Beaver Falls, 4-0, in a WPIAL Class AA Section 5 game.
