There were plenty of medals being handed out to WPIAL tennis players Saturday at the Hershey Racquet Club. Back in September, Ronit Yurovsky of Plum beat Sara Perelman of Shady Side Academy in two sets to claim the WPIAL Girls Singles Tennis crown in Class AAA. Saturday afternoon, history repeated itself as Yurovsky beat Perelman again in the state finals.Ryan Gil and NA Teammates Golden in PIAA Cross-Country Championships
It was a golden Saturday for both Ryan Gil, who won the 2010 Boys Class AAA Individual cross-country race while his North Allegheny teammates finished first in the boys team standings at the Parkview Course in Hershey. Last week, Shady Side Academy edged Mount Lebanon to win the 2010 WPIAL Girls Team Tennis Class AAA Championship. One week later, history has repeated itself in the 2010 PIAA Girls Team Tennis Finals. At 99 year old Youghiogeny Country Club, the WPIAL Boys Division II Golf Championships were played Wednesday. There were 18 groups that teed off on either the compact front nine or the wide open back nine beginning at 9:00 AM with a total of 56 golfers.
