The Parkway Conference in Class AAA and the Eastern Conference in Class A were both 4-0 in WPIAL first-round football playoff games last week. That is impressive, but not unheard of in the WPIAL. Hats off to the WPIAL Girls Volleyball steering committee as they got all of the top two seeds playing for the Championships in all three classifications this season. This particular conflict featured two northern suburban schools that do not have an affinity for one another on the volleyball court.NA Duo Settles for Silver in 2010 PIAA Girls Doubles Tennis Championships
A pair of WPIAL duo's made it to the Semifinals in the 2010 PIAA Girls Doubles Tennis Championships this weekend in Hershey, one in Class AAA and one in Class AA. When it comes to records, maybe its time to stop thinking about Rushel Shell in a WPIAL sense. Maybe its time to look at the entire state. Shell, Hopewells wonderful junior running back, ran for 193 yards against West Allegheny in a 34-31 overtime win last night. It was a historic day for WPIAL girl's golf Thursday at the Cedarbrook Golf Club in Belle Vernon. On the first year the district crowned two champions instead of one, Fox Chapel won gold for the first time in school history led by the first family of girl's golf, Nadia and Katerina Luttner.Chicks Picks – Week 6 – 2010
