Last year, WPIAL teams brought their ‘A’ game in the PIAA basketball championships.
Imani Christian and Union won Class A boys and girls state titles, respectively, joining Lincoln Park’s boys in Class 4A in the winner’s circle in Hershey.
District 7 was a combined 3-4 in the PIAA finals as the Aliquippa and Deer Lakes boys and South Fayette and Blackhawk girls brought home state silver.
At the end of last season, Lincoln Park was ranked No. 1 in boys and Union was the top team in girls in the weekly Trib 10 power rankings.
In this season’s first edition, the Leopards are still at No. 1 on the boys’ side while Norwin, fresh from handing North Allegheny its first loss, sits on top in the girls rankings with Union at No. 10.
Here are the Trib 10 basketball power rankings with the overall records from this season, followed by where that team was ranked at the end of last season.
